News: Conference in Kyiv, June 4-5, 2014

Nowy_obrazThe conference DCFTAs and Beyond—How can the EU contribute to development and welfare in the Eastern Partnership countries will be held in Kyiv on the 4th and 5th of June 2014.


The conference is a joint initiative of the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) at the Stockholm School of Economics and the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), with support from the Governments of Sweden and Ukraine.

The purpose of this conference in Kyiv is to discuss the mutual benefits offered by the Association Agreements, including Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Areas which are expected to be signed by Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine with the EU in June 2014. The discussion is planned in several panels on related topics that cover the effects of DCFTAs; transforming societies through economic and political reforms; recent transition paths; Ukraine’s reform program; and Eastern Partnership countries and the EU — DCFTAs and beyond.


Speakers come from both academia and the policy sphere and include representatives from EU and Eastern Partnership countries, independent research organizations, IFIs and private companies. Dr Michał Myck will actively take part in the meeting as one of the guest speakers. His presentation can be downloaded here.
