(Ce)² Workshop 2022

The (Ce)² workshop is a joint initiative of the Centre for Economic Analysis (CenEA, Poland) and the Centre for Microdata Methods and Practice (CeMMAP, UK). The seventh edition of the workshop will take place in Warsaw on 27-28 June 2022. The 2022 keynote lectures in the Lecture Series in Honour of Leonid Hurwicz will be given by:

(University of Texas at Austin and IZA Bonn)
In light of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and its consequences we issue a modified Call for Papers. The workshop will feature sessions on forced migration which will be organised in cooperation with migration experts from the University of Warsaw. We extend the list of fields from which we welcome studies to the following:
- Human capital development
- Intergenerational mobility
- Poverty alleviation
- Discrimination and inequality
- Domestic violence
- Forced migration
- Internal displacement
Organization:
Only full papers will be considered (early versions are welcome). Authors will have 50 minutes for their presentation and they will be expected to discuss another paper presented at the workshop. The total number of presentations will not exceed 20.
Procedures:
There is no conference fee but participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.

WIEM 2022:
Participants of the (Ce)² Workshop are also encouraged to take part in the XVII Warsaw International Economic Meeting (WIEM) on 28-30 June 2022, as presenters or audience members. The Hurwicz keynote lectures, held on the afternoon of June 28, will also serve as the opening event for WIEM.
The 2022 (Ce)² Workshop is organised as an initiative of the FREE Network and is supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

- Discrimination
- Gender inequality
- Human capital development
- Inter-generational mobility
Microeconomic theory:
- Bargaining, voting, power
- Coalition formation and networks
- Communication and information acquisition
- Economic theory and experiments
Organization:
Only full papers will be considered (early versions are welcome). Authors will have 45 minutes for their presentation and they will be expected to discuss another paper presented at the workshop. The total number of presentations will not exceed 20.

In 2012 CenEA initiated the Keynote Lecture Series in Honour of Leonid Hurwicz which concludes the Workshop and is an opening event of the WIEM Conference.
The 2020 lecture will be given by prof. Anna Aizer (Brown University).
The opening keynote lecture of the workshop will be given by prof. Daniel Hamermesh (Barnard College and IZA).
Ce2 Workshop 2018
The (Ce)2 workshop is a joint initiative of CenEA and CeMMAP. The fifth edition took place in Warsaw on 2-3 July 2018. The 2018 edition of the workshop covered topics in microeconomic theory and applications, in particular papers were invited in the following fields:
Microeconomic applications:
- Human capital development
- Decision making within households
- Poverty alleviation programmes
- Design and evaluation of public policies
Microeconomic theory:
- Experiments and game theory
- Information and communication
- Networks and public choice
- Incentives and mechanisms
WIEM Conference 2019
The University of Warsaw, Faculty of Economic Sciences with CenEA (cooperating partner) invite all economists to participate in the 14th annual conference – Warsaw International Economic Meeting 2019.
All economists are invited to submit their unpublished analytical work or new research in all areas of economics with special focus on macroeconomics, international trade, labour economics, education, microeconomics, industrial organization, finance and econometrics. The main objective of this meeting is to stimulate cooperation of researchers from all over the world. Young economists, such as graduate students or post-docs are encouraged to apply. Participants are expected to serve as discussants of other papers presented in the same session.
The Conference is scheduled for 2-4 July 2019 and will be held in the premises of the Faculty of Economic Sciences. For more information on the venue, please click here.
The keynote lecture of the ”Lecture Series in Honour of Leonid Hurwicz” (2nd July) will be offered this year by our keynote speaker: Prof. Jörn-Steffen Pischke, (London School of Economics and Centre for Economic Performance). This keynote lecture is organised by CenEA. It is the closing event of the Ce^2 workshop (see below for more information) and it will open the 2019 edition of the WIEM Conference. Our second keynote speaker this year is Prof. Alessandra Faggian, (Gran Sasso Science Institute) who will give her lecture on the second day of the Conference (3rd July).

- Identification challenges in applied microeconomics
- Empirical analyses in economic history
Microeconomic theory:
- Games: theory and experiments
- Information economics
- Communication and networks
