Update: Postponed | Economic and social context of domestic violence
[Postponed until further notice!] The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified the academic and policy interest in the causes and consequences of domestic violence. With this in mind, the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) together with the Centre for Economic Analysis (CenEA) and the FREE Network will host a conference on 7 March 2022 entitled 'Economic and social context of domestic violence’.

In light of the military aggression of the Russian Federation on Ukraine, the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics and the Centre for Economics Analysis, jointly with other FREE Network institutes, have decided to postpone the Conference on “Economic and Social Context of Domestic Violence”, planned for March 7th 2022, until we can be sure that our colleagues from Ukraine can safely contribute.

The conference will combine presentations of academic papers and contributions from policy makers and interest groups. Both applied and theoretical contributions are welcome.
The keynote lecturer will be Professor Bilge Erten (Northeastern University) and the conference is planned as a hybrid event with several sessions held at the Stockholm School of Economics and the entire program streamed online.
This event is organised as part of the Forum for Research on Gender Economics (FROGEE) supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
Call for papers
We invite academic contributions focusing on economic and social context of domestic violence. Both applied and theoretical contributions are welcome. The deadline for submissions is 15 February 2022. Notifications are expected by 20 February 2022.
