Patryk Markowski

Patryk Markowski joined CenEA as a Research Economist in November of 2024. He received his Bachelor’s degree in International Relations in 2023 at the University of Szczecin. He is currently studying history at the University of Szczecin. His main area of interest is the history of international economic relations.

Adam Adamczyk
Artur Król

Artur Król joined CenEA as a Research Economist in February of 2020. He received his Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting at the University of Szczecin in 2020 and Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics at the Pomeranian Medical University in 2019. Before joining CenEA he worked as an accounting assistant. His work focuses on LFS (Labour Force Survey) data analysis, as well as gender differences in society.

Monika Oczkowska

Monika Oczkowska works at CenEA as a research economist since March 2012. From the beginning she was involved in the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe, by supporting data management, questionnaire development and fieldwork coordination in each consecutive wave of the study in Poland. She also exploits SHARE data in practice, focusing on research in the field of ageing, the labour market, social exclusion and gender inequality. She also takes part in work on microsimulation analysis of the Polish tax-benefit system.
She received an MA degree in Economics, with a specialization in financial analysis and business valuation in 2012 at the University of Szczecin. She holds BA degrees in Economics and International Relations, both obtained at the University of Szczecin. Before joing CenEA, she worked for a consulting company, where she was involved in projects on evaluating local enterprises.

Michał Myck

Michał Myck is Director and Member of the Board of CenEA. He previously worked at the Institute for Fiscal Studies (1999-2004; International Fellow 2005-2011) and at the DIW-Berlin (2005-2013). In years 2005-2017 he was the Polish Country Team Leader for the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE).
He received his B.A. (First Class) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford (1997) and an M.Phil. degree in Economics at the University of Oxford (1999). In March 2006 he received his Ph.D. degree at the University of Warsaw. He completed his habilitation in June 2015 at the School of Business and Economics of the Freie Universität Berlin (Privatdozent until December 2018). He is currently associated as Privatdozent with Universität Greifswald. He is a Research Fellow at IZA Bonn and regularly cooperates with the World Bank.
His research has focused on modelling of labour market behaviour and on the implications of labour market regulations on employment and retirement decisions. He has studied the effectiveness of tax and benefit systems and worked on issues related to measurement of poverty and income inequality. He published in such journals as American Economic Journal – Economic Policy, Journal of Health Economics, Social Science and Medicine, Labour Economics, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Economics of Transition, Fiscal Studies, Oxford Review of Economic Policy and Review of Economics of the Household.
