Beata Sitkowska
Beata Sitkowska joined the CenEA team in August 2025 as an Research Economist. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and IT Applications, obtained from the University of Szczecin in 2020 and a BA degree in German Philology. Her research interests focus on health inequalities from a life time perspective with a specific focus on differences by gender and cohort. She is responsible for CenEA’s Commentary Series focused on fiscal policy in Poland.

Paulina Podorska
Paulina Podorska has been a Research Economist at CenEA since August 2025. She is in her final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Econometrics at the University of Szczecin. She has been responsible for database management and development, and is a member of the Polish National Team of the EUROMOD model. She is also working on analysis of demographic trends in Central and Eastern Europe and the relationship between fertility and labour market activity.

Adam Adamczyk
Artur Król
Artur Król joined CenEA in February of 2020. He received his Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting at the University of Szczecin in 2020. He is responsible for the development of CenEA’s microsimulation model SIMPL and for the Polish module of the EUROMOD model. His work focuses on distributional consequences of tax and benefit policies and different dimensions of economic and social inequalities. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from the Pomeranian Medical University.

Michał Myck
Michał Myck is Director and Member of the Board of CenEA. He previously worked at the Institute for Fiscal Studies (1999-2004; International Fellow 2005-2011) and at the DIW-Berlin (2005-2013). In years 2005-2017 he was the Polish Country Team Leader for the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE). He is a professor at the Institute of Economics, Polish Academy of Sciences.
He received his B.A. (First Class) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford (1997) and an M.Phil. degree in Economics at the University of Oxford (1999). In March 2006 he received his Ph.D. degree at the University of Warsaw. He completed his habilitation in June 2015 at the School of Business and Economics of the Freie Universität Berlin (Privatdozent until December 2018). He is currently associated as Privatdozent with Universität Greifswald. He is a Research Fellow at IZA Bonn and regularly cooperates with the World Bank.
His research has focused on modelling of labour market behaviour and on the implications of labour market regulations on employment and retirement decisions. He has studied the effectiveness of tax and benefit systems and worked on issues related to measurement of poverty and income inequality. He published in such journals as American Economic Journal – Economic Policy, Journal of Health Economics, Journal of the Economics of Ageing, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Social Science and Medicine, and Labour Economics.

Izabela Wowczko
Monika Oczkowska
Monika Oczkowska worked at CenEA as a Senior Research Economist between 2012 and 2025. From the beginning she was involved in the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe, by supporting data management, questionnaire development and fieldwork coordination in each consecutive wave of the study in Poland. She exploited SHARE data in practice, focusing on research in the field of ageing, the labour market, social exclusion and gender inequality. She continues the coordination of the SHARE study within Warsaw School of Economics.
She received an MA degree in Economics, with a specialization in financial analysis and business valuation in 2012 at the University of Szczecin. She holds BA degrees in Economics and International Relations, both obtained at the University of Szczecin. Before joing CenEA, she worked for a consulting company, where she was involved in projects on evaluating local enterprises.
